In Adso's vision or dream at the end of the play, there are several passages in which biblical characters appear and each one brings a product. Pharaoh brings peppers. At another point, Pharaoh brings an octopus (Adso wonders why an octopus). All were drunk and drank, Pharaoh drank Sorrentine (why, says Adso). In the meeting of Guillermo and Adso in the finis Africae, a room without direct access to the library, with Jorge, we see that there we find the book that was previously in Severino's Laboratory and that Guillermo and Adso were after. It is a book containing a manuscript in Arabic, another in Syriac but which is really a translation of an Egyptian book on alchemy, and the last and most dangerous, Book II of Aristotle's “Poetics” on laughter, in Greek. The Egyptian book is from the 3rd century, and its author attributes the creation of the world to divine laughter, which is despicable for George.
