Summary of the game
The game is an expansion pack to Pharaoh. Just like its prequel, it is an isometric city-building game belonging to Sierra’s City Building series. The player’s task is to construct and administer various Egyptian cities and build monuments. The expansion pack contains additional campaigns and elements in the game proper (such as the zoo or divine help in constructing monuments). The pack contains also new monuments to construct.

Egyptomania narratives or motifs
Just as its prequel, the game is explicitly set in ancient Egypt, so the player can familiarise themselves with further aspects of Egypt’s history and culture. The game develops from the early New Kingdom up to the battle of Actium, which, in this case is to be won by the player, in neat contrast to historical events. The player is also expected to construct new monuments along the game, such as the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Ramesses II at Abu Simbel, or the Library at Alexandria and lighthouse on the Pharos Island. Just like in the prequel, the game is provided with explanatory notes dedicated to various aspects of Egyptian civilisation.
